Recap: Connecticut Center of Advanced Technology’s 2025 Joint Technology Summit

CCAT Attendees

Earlier this summer, our Manager of Automation Sales Charles Gales had the pleasure of traveling to East Hartford, CT, to present at the Connecticut Center of Advanced Technology (CCAT)’s 2025 Joint Technology Summit.

This two-day conference had around 50 attendees who learned about technology adoption, workforce training, innovation and efficiency in manufacturing through several presentations and tours led by industry experts.

Charles spoke on Robotics Integration. He explained the differences between cobots and robots, why cobots are growing in adoption across many industries, the different types of collaboration possible with cobots, applicable safety standards, and how to conduct a robot safety risk assessment.

In his presentation, Charles shared that cobots are generally considered to be quick to deploy, easy to re-deploy, lightweight and easily mobile, safe in certain situations without extra components, and often the perfect starter robot to support companies as they grow. Industrial robots are still required when robot reach, payload, speed and accuracy reach certain levels, but cobots have come a long way in the past twenty years.

At Weldon Solutions, we welcome opportunities for our team to travel to industry conferences and events and share their expert insights. Thanks to Charles for presenting at CCAT!
